1. Common knowledge of coaxial connectors

Male: male connector, with threads inside and a pin inside, such as TNC (M);

Female: female connector, with threads outside and a hole inside, such as SMA (F);

RP: Reverse Polarity, which means that the head and the pin inside are opposite;

Bulkhead: a connector that can be screwed on the board, including washers, screw caps and retaining walls (such as SMA FEMALE BULKHEAD);

PCB: a connector with feet that can be soldered on the board, such as SMA FEMAL PCB;

Panel: a connector with screw holes that can be screwed on the board, such as SMA PANEL MOUNT, usually divided into 4 holes and 2 holes.

2. Common elements to describe an RF connector:

1. Connector type: SMA, SMB, BNC, TNC, SMC, N-type, BMA, etc.

2. Characteristic impedance: 50 ohms are marked with 50 or 50 is not marked, 75 ohms are marked with 75;

3. Contact key mode: male, female;

4. Shell form: straight: not marked; bent: W;

5. Installation form: flange: F, nut: Y, welding: H;

6. Wiring type: compatible cable model, inner diameter and outer diameter requirements, etc.;

7. Attenuation: signal strength attenuation caused by the passage of RF signals corresponding to different frequency bands;

8. Thread type: external thread, internal thread.

Note: Usually the connectors on the equipment side are female external threads, and the connectors on the cable side are mostly male internal threads.
